Regather Co-Op, Amey and the Friends of Club Garden PUT DOWN NEW ROOTS IN

THE TREE COUNCIL’S NATIONAL TREE WEEK

The community of Lansdowne and Club Garden, with the help of Regather Charity and Amey will be making a deep-rooted change to the landscape and environment in their local area by planting 3 fruit trees donated by Amey on Salmon Street and Hobart Street and planting 5 fruit trees in the Club Garden community green space during The Tree Council’s 2015 National Tree Week (from 28th November to 6th December).

This year marks the 40th anniversary of National Tree Week, the UK’s biggest annual tree celebration, which was first held in 1975.

With the help of a grant from The Tree Council, the lead UK tree campaigning partnership, volunteers from Amey and Regather will be planting 5 fruit trees, including apple and pear and completing extensive work to improve the green space, including a new bench, a new raised bed, mulching, and litter and shrub removal.

There will also be a Community Celebration with the help of the Real Junk Food Project Sheffield on Saturday 5th December from 10am – 12pm at Regather Works, Club Garden Road. Everyone is welcome, and refreshments will be available on a pay as you feel basis.
