Its Eyes Down at The RIVA Club in Wisewood

21 Jan

Hillsborough Ward Councillors funded the Riva Club Project £147 from the Hillsborough Ward pot to purchase a bingo machine for bingo afternoon sessions where members of the local community come together with dabbers in hand.

Councillors support this project as it increases social activity and helps to reduce social isolation, which is one of the ward priorities for the Hillsborough Ward.

We asked a few of the people who attend these Friday afternoon bingo sessions, why they think the support from local Councillors is valuable. Here are just a few of many comments:

“Its the only day of the week I manage to get out to meet and speak to people”

“I live alone and enjoy coming here to socialise,  I look forward to Fridays”

“The food is very nice, especially the meat & potato pie”

If you would like to attend the RIVA Club bingo sessions, just pop along on a Friday from 12pm. There is always a good menu selection available and a variety of hot and cold drinks.
