Public meeting about Sheffield Central Library and Graves Art Gallery 6th December 2016

1 Dec

People are invited to a public meeting next Tuesday to find out more about proposals for Sheffield’s Central Library and Graves Art Gallery. Last week it was announced that Sheffield City Council is considering leasing the Surrey Street building to create the city’s first five star hotel, as the cost of repairs and upkeep is rapidly becoming unaffordable. The building is also inaccessible to many people and is not likely to be able to offer a world-class central library service. The meeting will run from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on 6 December in Sheffield’s Town Hall. The meeting is likely to be popular, so pre-booking is essential.
