Aim
• To grow voluntary income of the centre from around £170k to £340k over two years.
• To double our grant income to £40k a year.
• To lead on developing a marketing and fundraising strategy over the next 5 years to grow voluntary income to £500k
• To develop a supporter retention programme.
• To work with the Director to create a suite of marketing materials to promote the centre.
• To ensure effective, regular reporting to the Director on all aspects of fundraising and supporter care/retention for the centre and residential project.

Circumstances
• Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week with an hour a day for lunch. 24 days of annual leave each year excluding Bank Holidays.
• Some evening and weekend work will be required and time off in lieu will be given in accordance with our TOIL policy.
• Based in St Wilfrid’s Centre but will be required to attend events in and around the county.
• St Wilfrid’s Centre works with vulnerable adults aged 18+ and so a Disclosure & Barring Service check will be required to establish the successful applicant’s suitability to work with our clients.

Salary
• £20,00 to £27,000 depending on experience

Principle accountabilities

1. Act as a main point of contact for fundraising and marketing information and activity.
2. To lead on building a fundraising and marketing strategy for the next 5 years.
3. Evaluate and improve all our current fundraising events as part of our overall fundraising strategy. Plan and run these events.
4. Be aware of new fundraising methods and be abreast of any fundraising news.
5. Lead on the compilation of grant applications (and other sources of funds) including writing and submitting trust and grant applications.
6. Research charitable organisations whose criteria match St Wilfrid Centre’s aims and identify new opportunities for raising funds to ensure that opportunities to apply and generate income are maximised.
7. Explore fundraising collaboration opportunities with other local organisations.
8. Ensure that accurate and up to date financial and supporter records are maintained and are accessible. Manage the supporter database and adhere to data protection law.
9. Raise awareness and secure corporate partnerships. Engage potential major donors. Manage the relationships with existing donors.
10. To increase the profile of St Wilfrid’s Centre & residential project across all sections of the community (alongside the Volunteer Coordinator and volunteers where appropriate). This may include attending cheque presentations, networking events, all day events, presenting to companies, giving tours of the centre and residential project.
11. Oversee the production of our newsletter (currently annual).
12. Maintain and update our template website (training will be given). Develop and maintain a social media campaign with web-based fundraising for St Wilfrid’s Centre. Drive new initiatives to maximise our visibility
13. Provide regular reports on activity and maintain accurate and detailed records of research, contacts and activities.
14. Be committed to encourage volunteering throughout St Wilfrid’s Centre by respecting and supporting volunteers. This will include developing fundraising volunteers by working alongside and supervising volunteers.
15. Be the direct lead for the work carried out by St Wilfrid’s Centre’s Gift Aid team (which includes volunteers).
16. Work within St Wilfrid’s Centre’s policies and procedures and adhere to current and relevant legislation.
17. Adhere to all health and safety and fire regulations and to cooperate with St Wilfrid’s Centre in maintaining good standards of health and safety.
18. Actively promote and support the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and young people, observing and adhering to St Wilfrid’s Centre’s policies on safeguarding, data protection, confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Personal Specification
Essential

1. Demonstrable experience of fundraising across a broad range of donors, sponsors, supporters, statutory bodies and grant foundations.
2. Experience of managing successful relationships with donors and supporters and being confident in providing advice and guidance to others around regulations, law and good practice.
3. Experience of researching and submitting grant applications and giving timely follow-up feedback and relevant reporting.
4. Experience of developing and delivering a variety of profile-raising and fundraising events to small and large groups.
5. Experience of working to tight budgets, managing a personal budget and using resources wisely.
6. Experience of working successfully as part of a cross-disciplinary team, whilst also being able to work on own initiative.
7. Experience of working towards a fundraising strategy and reporting on progress.
8. Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively when addressing a variety of audiences in person, on the phone, through social media, via email, and when giving presentations.
9. IT literate and able to maintain and develop effective administration, information, database and donation systems.
10. Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage a high volume workload and manage conflicting priorities.
11. Experience of contributing to a social media campaign with a good understanding of branding and marketing.
12. Commitment to the value of engaging clients in the fundraising programme and an understanding of the positive impact that this can have for them, St Wilfrid’s and the wider community.
