There is time for a tea/coffee before we start, available from 5.45pm.

Chat to experienced foster carers and social workers to ask them any questions about fostering.

Strap on your boots and take in Sheffield on foot as Sheffield Walking Festival returns 13 – 22 September 2019. Over ten days, the festival presents a host of enjoyable walks for a range of abilities, with plenty to see and discover along the way.

The festival celebrates all sides of Sheffield with 40 routes of varying lengths and themes. Explore the city’s varied heritage and fascinating suburbs on urban strolls or venture out to Sheffield’s dramatic borders that overlap with the stunning Peak District National Park for something more challenging. Christ Church Stocksbridge is recruiting for a Managing Coordinator

The Meeting Place, an award winning social cafe based in Stocksbridge who meet weekly to support people who are socially isolated, find it difficult to make friends, or require additional support and/or need sign-posting to local services.  The Meeting Place is also an information point for Credit Union and the cafe is run by volunteers under the supervision of the paid Coordinator.

Responsibilities include:

  • running all aspects of the cafe, training and recruiting volunteers.
  • ensuring the activities and services run smoothly
  • manage and maintain good relationships with the community and other organisations.
  • 15 hours per week
  • £12.50 per hour
  • closing date 5 October 2019
