Make Volunteering at a Lunch Club your New Year’s Resolution

There was a heart-warming level of volunteering across the city in December, particularly from people interested in helping at Christmas events for older people.

We are fortunate in Sheffield that there are over 70 lunch clubs running all year long because of the hard work and dedication of volunteers so if you want to convert your Christmas goodwill into a new hobby there’s plenty of opportunities.

Clubs often need minibus drivers, cooks and kitchen staff, people to run activities, even help with shopping and cleaning. Whatever your skill, there’ll be a space for you at a local lunch club. Contact Sophia Arthurs Hartnett, Lunch Club Development Officer at Voluntary Action Sheffield on 0114 253 6650 or by email at S.Arthurs-Hartnett@vas.org.uk for more information.
