Upper Hanover Playground Workday

Local volunteers came together this morning to support the Broomhill & Sharrow Vale ward Councillors, the Sheffield Councils Parks & Countryside’s officers, the City ward Councillors, volunteers from the Jesus Centre and South Yorkshire Police to brighten up the Upper Hanover playground.

Councillor Kaltum Rivers and Andrew Machin (Sheffield Council) had organised the workday where volunteers assisted with the painting of the swings and fences and a litter pick.  Councillor Kaltum Rivers quoted, ‘it is very important for the community to be involved in local activities as such where the area is improved with the support from local people’.

The workday was a success.  The local community can now enjoy using the playground which looks newer, cleaner, and fresher.
